Red Hot Chili Peppers
An alternative rock band formed in the 80's. Their style began as a fusion of rock, funk and rap, with elements from other genres too, but they have evolved into a finer, more polished style throughout the years.
Their early material is just ok for me, but nothing special. It wasn't until they had a steady lineup in 1989 that they took off. Blood Sugar Sex Magik is their greatest album, and a must for any fan of alternative rock. They're currently working on their new album.
My Top 5:
-Storm in a Teacup
-Give it Away
-Under the Bridge
-Otherside
-Higher Ground (cover)
In case you haven't listened to Storm in a Teacup, here it is:

sick song! thanks
ReplyDeleteHell yes. RCHP is one of the few who have been around for a long time, but still rock hard as ever. And each album is unique and different the previous one.
ReplyDeleteI like the top 10 RHCP songs, but I've never heard Storm in a Teacup. I like it, though.
ReplyDeleteThe songs that radios play are so different than the best songs a band does. It makes me mad that I've never heard this on the radio.
Nice! Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteunder the bridge is def one of my favorite songs of all time. the 6th st bridge on the cover of the single isn't that far from my house either.
ReplyDeleteUnder the bridge has to be my favorite red hot chilli pepper songs too!

Under the Bridge is one of the best songs of the 90s. Californication isn't bad either.

ReplyDeleteI think you hit the nail right on the head with these guys, the "alternative" that is new in circulating now holds nothing against these incredibly talented bands from the 90s.
